XChat is an IRC (chat) program for Windows and UNIX (Linux/BSD) operating systems. I.R.C. is Internet Relay Chat, see http://irchelp.org for more information about IRC in general.

Proxy Configuration

Setup Notes
  • In the Server List, make sure the checkbox 'Use Proxy Server' is selected for the server you are connecting to. This option can be set per server setting, so some can go direct and others always using the configured Proxy.
  • To change the actual Proxy Srettings:
  1. Go to Settings->Preferences->Network Setup
  2. In Hostname Enter localhost
  3. In Port Enter 8085
  4. Leave username and password empty.
  5. Select the Type of Proxy as SOCKS 5
